Connecting two EXS6190 Extenders together?
I recently had to switch over to the NBN and the only place where it could be installed was the furthest possibke room from where i need my internet most. I have a Netgear EXS6190 extender and just one extender still doesnt extend the range further enough to the room where i need the interent. Is it possible to connect two of these extenders together to help extend the range even further? Thanks.
Re: Connecting two EXS6190 Extenders together?
The problem with extenders is that they halve the bandwidth and increase latency for each hop. if you're daisy chaining extenders, the 2nd one puts you at basically 1/4 the bandwidth.
this can be decreased a bit by using fastlane/fastlane3/orbi
If you're needing more than 1 extender, I'd recommend using something like Orbi. It dedicates 1 radio just for router---satellite communication. It greatly reduces the speed hit and latency hit you take by daisy chaining.
