Constant connection with WN3000RP?

Hi,

I setup the WN3000RP repeater and it works great, but I noticed that when my iPhone is not in use, then I use it, the WiFi connection is off (shows LTE) and then connects to WiFi extender. When connected to my router (Uverse), it stays connected even without using. The issue is I use WiFi calling and I need the constant wifi connection like the router does with the repeater. Is there a setting/way to do this with the WN3000RP repeater to maintain a connection at all times?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Constant connection with WN3000RP?

I'm not aware of any setting on the WN3000RP.  Are you sure your iPhone stays connected to your Uverse router?  I Googled the iPhone's Wi-Fi behavior and AFAICT iPhones will put their Wi-Fi into power saving a few seconds after going to sleep (e.g. link).  I confirmed this with my own iPhone 6S connected to my R7000.  See ping output below.  The request timeouts indicate when the iPhone stopped responding shortly after going to sleep.

There is one exception to the above.  You can prevent the iPhone from turning off Wi-Fi by keeping it plugged in.

I've read that turning off Cellular data may keep Wi-Fi enabled, but I found that this did not work.
