Dell XPS13 not connecting to 3000RP extender

I have a new Dell XPS13. It sees my Cisco router and connects to internet. However, I have a Netgear 3000 extender off the Cisco and although the Dell sees it, when I connect - using security key - I get a message that the Extender can't assign an address to the XPS.

3000 Extender firmware and XPS wireless driver are both up to date.

Do you have other devices that works fine with the extender? Set a static IP on the Dell in range with your router.
