Devices cannot find NETGEAR_EXT to connect extender

I'm having trouble setting up my extender. Neither my laptop or iphone can find the NETGEAR_EXT network that is required to complete the setup. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 

 

App version is 2.15.1.2

Firmware Version is V1.0.1.106

    Have you tried factory resetting it? maybe it was setup prior. 

    Push and hold resets for 7-15 seconds while powered on. the lights should flash/change when held long enough. 

     

    You can also hardwire a pc/laptop into the extender for setup. Just make sure to disable the wifi on the pc/laptop when doing so so the computer doesn't default to the wifi connection.
