Do I need a mesh?
Hi,
First time poster.
I live in the UK and have fibre from Virgin Media. I have just signed up to their Gigabit Fibre services, so super fast.
I dont want to use their supplied router as its a load of rubbish and I have a Nighthawk X6 AC3200.
However, speed close to the router is fine, and the reach seems to be ok. But speed massively drops off in certain parts of the house. I.e. in my study down the hall from the lounge where the router is it can drop out or be slow (im talking under 10mb/s)
Question 1: Can the Nighawk X6 AC3200 handel gigabit speeds?
Question 2: Do I need boosters or a mesh extender for the nighhawk? If I do, which ones? Would the mesh extender solve the issue and give me near gigabite speeds throughout the house?
Question 3: Some devices cant connect to the router if it has smart connect on (i.e. where it automatically chooses the channel). So I have had to have this feature turned off. But that means most devices are connecting through the 2GZ range which is slower. How do I fix this?
Thanks!
