EAX 80 Removes Network instead of extending
Had to replace router from RAX35 to RAX40 due to sudden death. Got everything going on the router works just fine. When attempting to put my extender back into the system went through the video on the product page. Everything went fine until the last step. After selecting the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands The Nighthawk app wanted to connect to the 5 GHZ band. Tod me it could not and failed to connect. Wifi Name NetgearXX was suddenly gome from my list of networks and had a red light on the router link LED of the EAX 80 and the 5 GHZ light went off also.
Turned the extender off and disconnected it. Still no network showing up. Shut off modem and RAX40 router and Let them rest for 5 minutes. Restarted Modem and RAX40 router and everything came back.
Did a hard reset on the EAX80 with the paperclip and started over again as a new setup. Long story short still cannot energize the EAX80 and put it in the network without the network being eliminated again.
Latest firmware on RAX40, EAX80 and modem up to date.
Running MocOS Monterey
MacBook Pro with M1 chip
Running nighthawk app on iPhone 12 Pro

what actual firmware version is on both the RAX and the EAX? "the latest" doesn't help or sometimes isn't.
Did you try setup using a different device?
Did you try setup using wps?
