EX2700 Connectivity Issues
Hi,
I had a previously working EX2700 until a power cut this afternoon. Obviously, my Virgin router went down as did the EX2700 extender. When the power was restored, I could see the extender's network (slightly24_EXT) fine, but when I tried to connect a device (my android phone) it either gets stuck "obtaining and ip address" or eventually gives me a "IP configuration failure".
So I restarted the extender with no joy. My next step was to move it back into the room with my Virgin router and try again. Sadly, the result didn't change.
So I then did a factory reset on the extender and set it up again with my router via WPS. As soon as the extender's network appeared I tried to connect my phone to it, but it still wouldn't work.
I factory reset the extender again and tried to use my phone to connect to it to perform a browser setup rather than WPS. When I connect my phone to the NETGEAR_EXT network it says that I need to "tap here to sign in to the network". So I tap and it takes me to a browser page;
Sign in to NETGEAR_EXT
under than there is some tiny text that says;
('reset': "1")
There's also a drop down menu top right on my phone that gives me to option to not use this network, or "use this network as is
".
If I chose the as is network, I am connected and I immediately browse to mywifiext.net and I either get a long delay and "you are not connected to your extender's WiFi network", or I get a occasionally get a NETGEAR page with a purple "NEW EXTENDER SETUP" (I'm paraphrasing as I cant remember the exact words) - followed by a long pause and a "you are not connected to the extender's WiFi network" error.
For what its worth, during this the device LED is solid green.
Help!

UPDATE:
I managed to use my partner's iphone to set the extender up via the browser method, but still can't get an internet connection when connected via the _EXT network. Obviously, my router's own wifi network is working fine.

Hi slightly76 - Thanks for your post. Would you mind providing us with the LED light status of the extender. You may refer to page 6 of the user manual.
