EX2700/N300 won't connect to router, 2nd extender on network

I bought a second NetGear extender. The first, a gift from a friend, worked immediately and is using the standard extensions. I don't seem able to log in and adjust its settings though. he second, bought from Amazon, won't connect with my router. Tried resetting to factory settings. Tried right next to teh router. Read all the support threads. Is there a trick to adding a second extender, or is this a dud?

Note: Router is on middle level. First extender, which is functional, is on top floor. Need extender for bottom level. (IE 3 levels in home)

Re: EX2700/N300 won't connect to router, 2nd extender on network

1. What router are you trying to connect to? What firmware is on it?

2. What firmware is on each extender?

3. have you tried to hardwire into the extender to set it up? or to access the one that works but isn't accessible. I've found this method usually the best for setup.

4.  I'd make sure that your extender network names are seperate from the name of the router ssid so they aren't trying to connect to each other.
