EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

I moved my office to my home and took my EX6100 with me.  I did factory reset and connected to my home Nighthawk router, setting up the _EXT wifi network.

Unfortunately I am unable to log in to the extended network from either my pc or iphone.

Please help.

Thanks

Mark

Unable to log into it?

do you mean connect to the wifi or logging into its browser to access it?

What router did you connect it to?

What modem/gateway is your router connected to?

I'd recommend setting it up using the installation assistant and not wps.

Both my iphone and my pc see the EXT wifi network but my password does not work

Connected to my Netgear Nighthawk

Please direct me to that "installation assistant."

Thanks

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

saying netgear nighthawk is like someone what car you drive and saying ford. There's a lot of different nighthawks so a model number helps.

Same with the modem/gateway model. We see double nat's (cascading more than 1 router) and it can cause issues.

in terms of the installation assistant:

Here's a video of how to use the assistant.

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

I am attempting to connect my Netgear EX6100 Extender to my

NETGEAR Nighthawk Smart WiFi Router (R6700) - AC1750.

I have followed the instructions for the installation assistant:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJVklshxBMk

I opened the Network connection manager (0:20 on the video).

I do not see a network called "NETGEAR_EXT."

I do see a network called "EX6100_NETGEAR_2GEXT."

I seem to be able to connect to that network, but when I go to mywifi ext.net

I get this message:

"You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network."

Your assistance will be most appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

Have you tried setting it up before? That isn't the default ssid.

Plus if you're connected to the extenders ssid and its giving you that notice, it usually means its connected to the router.

Log into the router and look at its attached device page. If the extender is connected, it should have an ip address on that page. Use that ip address to access it.

Yes. I had it working at my office, then I moved it into my home.  I did factory twice.

I am a bit confused. Please give me specific instructions to "log into the router."

Thanks

Mark

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

Not sure what router you have but you can usually access them using a browser interface to change the routers settings.

From within that interference, there tends to be an attached devices page (or equivalent)

without knowing what router you connected it to, its tough to be specific on telling you how to access it but the routers user manual should go over how to access it using a web browser.

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

Thanks for your reply.

The router is:

NETGEAR Nighthawk Smart WiFi Router (R6700) - AC1750

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

try going to routerlogin . com  or 192.168.1.1

log into the router there and then go to the attached devices page.

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

Ok, now I see the attached devices.

Should I see the Extender there? I do not.

Thanks

Re: EX6100 EXTENDER PASSWORD

If its connected to the router, it should show up there. It might not say netgear extender under the description.
