I have changed the region to Australia and it appears to work now.

So it appears to be a region specific issue. maybe its not approved to run dfs in your region
- maffcoffApr 23, 2020AspirantDFS is approved as long as the router is set to automatic channel selection this allows the router to determine if there are any radar signals and if so the routerwill ignore that channel. In the UK I cannot select a channel between 100 and 140. My router has determined I can use the channels so I wouldnt expect to have a broadband extender to determine i can't use a channel when the router has already determined it.
