EX7000 most stable firmware?
In September, I updated the firmware to V1.0.1.80_1.0.144. It was a nightmare. Wi-fi kept disconnecting, Macs wouldn't get assigned an IP, etc. I downgraded 80 to 78 to 68, then finally to 56, where it is currently in order to get a working router, especially with the Mac issue..
I'm leery of Netgears firmware updates now. This is likely a loaded question, but which version do you find to be the most stable? It seemed that with all the "fixes" that 80 provided, that could be where the problem lies. But I was surprised 78 and 68 didn't completely resolve the issue. Maybe I should leave good enough alone...
Thanks for your input.

Re: EX7000 most stable firmware?
Just curious if you stayed on 56?
I've had nothing but trouble with this ex7000 and R7000. I finally turned off the ex7000 because it would drop out daily and I've to reboot it. Only 2.4 seems to be semi-stable with no extender.
These have been very bad purchased, ready to switch to another product.

Re: EX7000 most stable firmware?
I did stay on 56.
Last year I had installed 1.0.1.80_1.0.144 and everything went to crap. Mac's couldn't automatically connect or even locate the AP, wifi kept disconnecting.
So I dropped all the way down to 1.0.0.42 because I didn't know where it started. Wifi worked, but on the Admin login screen it stated, "Your access point has no internet access" even though there was internet!
Installed 1.0.0.50, same error but everything else was okay.
Installed 1.0.0.68. Was okay.
Installed 1.0.0.78. Had same issue as .144 !
Installed 1.0.0.50.
Installed 1.0.0.56.
Didn't bother trying 68 again.

The R7000 isn't known for the best firmware. What version are you on for that? The stable version is 1.0.9.42 for the R7000. I'd try installing that version, factory reset the router, and then reinstalling it. Don't use a backup setup.

If you read my post, I did quite a bit of testing. I am currently running 56 and it has been very stable. I originally asked if anyone has experience with more current versions, but no one responded. I'm leaving good enough alone unless I hear from others.

Re: EX7000 most stable firmware?
Overall, 5ghz was worse. Kept connecting and reconnecting on all devices. 2.4 seemed stable still.
This morning I turned off the ex7000. Now both 2.4 and 5 are stable so far.
Setup, AP mode with mesh...using the same ssid on both the r7000 and ex7000. 2.4 and 5 separate ssids.
Any suggestions to get the ex7000 back on?
