My EX7300 is called a "Mesh Extender" but I can't determine the topology. If have multiple units of this model, will they connect as a mesh topology or a star topology?

that's the problem with mesh extenders versus full mesh systems like orbi.
They don't have a router controlling them. So they connect based on the ssid thats broadcast.
They coudl end up connected in either topology or it could even changed depending on the stability of your network and interference.
You can always manually set it up using unique ssids so you can control it but it half ruins the point of mesh.
