EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
I think that since the last update, the wifi point no longer saves the configuration which is lost on reboot ( soft or hard )
- Hardware Version: EX7700

Re: EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
I have just had exactly the same issue - moved router and had to set up from scratch. It always used to remember settings so I can only assume it is the new firmware. Thought I had missed a step out so powered off again, and it reset and had to set up again. Not ideal!

Re: EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
Exactly the same problem. Very happy to announce that the unwillingness of Netgear to acknowledge this as a problem has lost them a faithful customer. Been using their products for ages. No more. With the new Synology router launching in 2022 there will be no more Netgear. Ever. Poor design as evidenced here. Limited functionality as in locked down access to router internals.

Re: EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
Hi there,
I experienced the same issue when upgrading to firmware 1.0.0.222.
When reverting back to 1.0.0.174, the extender does not reset after a reboot.
However, the issue re-appears when upgrading to 206, 216 or 222.
174 seems to do the trick.
I have yet to try to upgrade to 188 or 202 (210 seems to have other bugs, so I won't try it).
By the way, not sure what's the difference between 202 and 206, the release notes are identical...
Please note that before downgrading or upgrading firmware, I reset the extender (using the reset button on the back).
Hope this helps

Re: EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
I have the exact same issue with my
- NETGEAR EX7300v2
- Firmware Version: V1.0.0.146
During a power outage or when I need to reboot it for whatever reason, it seems to lose the configuration (becoming NETGEAR_EXT) and I need to reconfigure it or at least get a dummy configuration on it so that I can reload the backup configuration file from my computer onto it.
I'm not comfortable with supplying my name, phone number, etc. on a public website which is viewable by everyone.
Is there a possibility of emailing the information?
Thanks.

Re: EX7700 / Loss of configuration on reboot ( soft or hard)
Hi there,
Quick update on this.
I have managed to fix the reset issues through the following procedure:
Reset the extender (through the button on the back)
Reverted back to the first firmware released (1.0.0.148)
Reset the extender again (through the button on the back)
Upgraded the extender to the latest release (1.0.0.226 at the time)
Reset the extender again (through the button on the back)
Reconfigured the extender
Since then, I don't have any reset issues, but the extender becomes unstable after 15 days (connections drop, can't do video calls without any disconnection). After a double reset and reloading the configuration, it works again for another 15 days.
