EX8000 Will not Broadcast a WiFi signal

Last week we had a power outage for about 3 seconds. My Nighthawk X8 R8500 router needed to be reset to enable wifi, and it works fine. But my EX8000 extender stopped working. All of the LEDs on the front panel turn on and off simultaneously, blinking about once every 2 seconds, and the LED above the power switch changes from Green when I turn it on to blinking Red.
I have tried connecting it directly to the router via ethernet, via WPS, and I have tried using the Android Nighthawk app. And I have tried resetting the EX8000. None of my mobile devices (Windows 10 laptop, WiFi-only iPad, and Samsung Galaxy 10 phone) detect a NETGEAR_EXT signal, so I cannot access the extender.
Has anyone encountered this condition?
Thanks!

sounds like either your firmware is corrupt or you have a hardware problem because of the power surge.
you can try recoving it with tftp or nmrpflash. I'd recommend trying tftp.

make sure to enable tftp from within windows.

or you can try nmrpflash.

Re: EX8000 Will not Broadcast a WiFi signal
Thanks! I had to slightly modify the instructions for when to hit the Enter Key (right after the Power LED turned green after several red blinks), but the firmware loaded successfully and my extender is up and running again!
