i would try redoing the setup process using the smart connect wizard and not wps. Maybe the 2.4ghz wasn't set right.

I didn’t use WPS to set it up. Anyways I’ve now found a fix which is to use an Ethernet cable however I’ve now got to buy one long enough for it to connect to the PS4.
