Extended messes up my main router on same channel
Within the range of my wifi router, the signal of the router and the extender are about equally strong. Since they use the same channel, connectivity to my main wifi router is terrible, probably by interference.

- Extender will connect the channel that router uses. Same what wifi device will connect when you scan your SSID and type the passphrase.
Options are to change the channel on wireless router - The WN1000RP is a repeater and MUST be on the same channel as the base router. Changing the channel on the router will cause the extender to switch channels - it will follow the router.
