Extender Stopped Working After Firmware Update

I recently decided to update my extender after seeing it had one from one of my emails. After the update and restart, I could no longer connect to my extender's signals. I tried resetting it multiple times, but it still does not work.

I had the same issue on an EX7000.  I had to do a reset using a paperclip. After that, my connection issues went away.

The only other thing I've seen on the forum to help was a suggestion to downgrade the firmware.

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware without being able to connect to the extender? If there isn't, then I cannot use the extender anymore.

I did a paperclip reset then I needed to attach the extender to the router via ethernet cable.  I was then able to access the setup menu from an internet browser on my computer and downgraded the firmware.  Otherwise there was no way of accessing the router wirelessly.
