Extender name WN3000RPV3

Hi,

i have a WM3000RPV3 Extender.

If I want to use my iPad outside then I have to select the _EXT network.

Ideally, I’d like my iPad to automatically switch to the best network.

The recommended solution is for your router and extender to have the same SSID.

Will this work with my model extender?

If yes then is there anything else that I may have to consider.

Do I need to change anything on my iPad ?

You can set the ssid the same but it won't auto-roam. The ssid would be sticky in that devices will tend to stay connected to the router or extender until they basically loose signal. 

You could upgrade to mesh extender that has those capabilities built in.
