Extender password
My router wifi shows password protected. However, my extender does not show a password protect. How can I fix this? MacOS15

It has the same end result. It allows you to manage the device from a central place (router), rather than having to set up a static IP in the device, as well as making sure the router doesn't hand it out to another device.
Most devices by default use DHCP (or in simple terms, get IP address automatically).

You can log into the extender and setup wireless security.
If you go to netgear.com/support/ type in your model number. It'll have the manual that walks you through the wireless settings.
