    I'd reset it (so you can access it) and then set a static ip address within the range of your router's ip range. Probably be the fastest way to fix it.

    Page 32 of the manual walks you through setting a static ip address.

You'll need to refer to you  D-Link DIR850L manual for assigning a static route within the router.

Hi,

 

Thanks for the help so far. I reset the router and ran the setup process afresh, but there was no option for static IP during the setup process.

 

Nonetheless, after setting up this time, the extender showed up in my router's device list and I could access the login page through the IP address. Problem fixed.
