Re: How do i get signal through brick fireplace
Currently, the router supplied by my internet provider is sitting on my fireplace mantle because they said it needed to be centrally located and placed as high as possible. Quite the eyesore.
We still get poor signal in the office and master which are furthest from the router.
Hope that gives you enough information to help with a solution. I wouldn't mind getting a more powerful router but I just want. to know that the extra expense will fix the issue.
We dont use the internet too much but want to be able to download a movie and still have my husband do some work at the same time. (He completes permits online from home at times)
Thanks for the help

Re: How do i get signal through brick fireplace
Hi @Jjjhull,
1. Without info on your current router, we have no point of comparison. However, getting a powerful router may not provide a definite result since there are network environment factors that may affect its' effectivity.
2. You can look into extenders to add to halfway points between the router and the bedrooms and the office. Here are some NETGEAR extenders.
3. Powerlines with wireless capability can also be an option but can get tricky if electrical lines/breakers won't easily cooperate. Here are some NETGEAR powerlines.
4. A Mesh system is also worth considering if you are looking to simplify everything and have consistency. Here is a look into the NETGEAR Orbi system.

Dexter
