The 2.4 and 5 ghz leds are Client-connection indicators. They are only on when a client device is connected to the EX7500 network.
So one test is to
- (a) connect to the network near the extender (perhaps toggling wifi off and on in a smartphone).
- (b) confirm that the appropriate client indicator is lit (5 ghz if you are testing with a smartphone near the extender).
- (c) confirm that the client can reach the internet (which might require turning mobile data off).
If you just want to see if the client network exists, then just turn off the wifi in your router, and see if you can still see the wifi network. If you are in extender mode, you won't be able to reach the internet, but you could browse to www.mywifiext.net.
