Is the EX8000 discontinued? Is there are replacement Negear tri-band extender?

I have a R7000 and I recently moved to a larger house such that I'm looking for an extender. I love the idea of a tri-band extender because of the dedicated 5G wireless backhaul since I don't have a good way to run a wired backhaul.

So the EX8000 looks like a great choice, only it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere and it is even hard to find on the Netgear product site/store.

The EAX80 is only dual band meaning that I won't get the performance I'm looking for.

Is Netgear getting out of the tri-band game?

  • No netgear isn't getting out of the tri-band extender game. The ex8000 is still a top tier model but covid has reduced supplies of everything. Even their new release devices they're struggling to keep in stock.

I'd wait or just keep watching around for retailers to have it in stock.

  • I just bought one from Best Buy.  I had to order on line and it took three days to get to store
