Is the gremlin in my extender?

An strange niggle has cropped up with my use of extender that I'm unable to correct. Everything had been work fine until yesterday. Getting connected seemed normal, but then even though my Mac is telling me wifi is connected and Netgear genius says the same thing, all lights on the extender are green, my browsers, Firefox or Safari, will not connect to any links.

When I go back into the room with the main Hub is located, as I'm doing now, everything, is working fine. But I'm unable to work at the end of the house where the extender was in operation. I have twice restarted the HUb, reset the extender to default, reconnenected via WPA. but to no effect.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks to all who offered advice. I am now well prepared. I say that, for
the simple rteason that my gremlin appears to have left the scene. As my
extender, no thanks to any of my own efforts, and just as mysteriouly as
the problem presented itself, is working as it should.

But if it starts to act up again, I know where to begin my investigations.
I may be back?

Welcome to the community!

1. What is the firmware version of the extender?

2. Have you tried going through the manual configuration instead of the WPS method as described on page 8 of the guide here?

3. Does the issue persist with your other wireless devices when connected to the extender?

Unable to discover the firmware of this extender. Not on my spec sheet. Where where should I look? But have been reading about a firmware uprage that might be available. I have gone through the manual configuation without solving the problem and the issue persists with both my Macs. One old and one with fully up to date OS. The extender model does have the letters V1H2 after the model number.

Log into the web ui.  There should be a status screen that shows it, or you can go into the firmware update screen (which will also show you what you are current running).

There are three somewhat different WN3000RP extenders - WN3000RP, WN3000RP v2, and WN3000RP v3.  They use different firmware.
