Issue connecting EX6110 to Verizon FiOS router

I'm having an issue where I'm not able to connect my NetGear EX6110 Wireless AC device to my Verizon FiOS router (G3100). When I walkthrough the Network Genie on the EX6110, I select my FiOS wifi and input the correct password, but the EX6110 is never able to connect to the G3100 router. IDK why this is but everything else works including setting up a new name, however the router connection never connects. I have been able to use the same exact EX6110 before in setting up connections to other wireless routers, I'm just not sure why my own Verizon FiOS router doesn't work. I'm running the latest firmware for my Netgear EX6110 device: v1.0.1.68 Suggestions?
