Mesh Repeater EX8000 how to connect with Internet-Router via LAN

Scenario:

- Internet-Router is in the ground flour.

- I have a LAN Cable from the ground flour to the first flour (because of bad WLAN)

- In the first flour I want to connect the EX8000 Mesh Extender with the LAN Cable to produce good WLAN connection.

is it possible?

What do I have to consider?

When I plug in the LAN Cable into the EX8000 my Network breaks down ...

Yes you can. but you need to setup the EX8000 in access point mode.

Thx, for the solution. But one more question: Is my internet router in the ground flour (internet access point) still working as WLAN router, when I turn the Netgear Repeater in the first flour to an access point?

No.

The router stays in router mode.

In access point mode, the router controls dhcp.

I quite frequently run router + access point/points.
