Please HELP!!! I just bought this tonight after fighter with Spectrum again tonight. Came home and had not problems getting it to set up (So I thought). I have an Asus Blue cave router that I have set up with different names for the two band widths.
For some reason the extender picked up the first name whichs is the 2.4 width. It shows that name with both 2g and 5g. Unfortunately when I look on my router it is showing as 2g even when connected to the 5g. What do I do now?
PS I updated firmware, so not sure what I am doing wrong? I do not have too many items but need the 5g for streaming on a stick.
Thanks in advance!

If you have got it working with the router in one place, it should be a simple case of moving the extender to where you want to use it. Somewhere half way between the router and where the wifi clients will be.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: Model ex 3110
I'd highly recommend using the installation assistant and not wps during setup. that'd let you set the ssid that you'd prefer for the extender for each band.
