Multiple wireless access points for home

Hi,
I'm renovating an old house that has very thick walls which would limit wireless coverage for just a single wireless access point.

Therefore I'm looking at installing multiple wireless access points high in the roof which will then 'shadow' down in the various rooms i.e. not have to go through the thick walls.

Has anyone done anything like this in the past ? Recommendations on Netgear models to use ?

Run Ethernet cable to each point and run AP with PoE injector possible so that you don't need power supply at each outlet

Re: Multiple wireless access points for home

I like the idea of using POE !. I've already installed 2x GS724TPS which support POE.

However given the electrician will have to cable up Cat 6 anyway it may be easier/less limiting to have him run power as well.

What models of Access Point support POE ?

Look at prosafe AP.

Dual band and has PoE support

Re: Multiple wireless access points for home

I found three WAPs that can be POE powered (in order of decreasing price) :
WNDAP360
WNAP320
WNAP210

However I can save $50 by going down to a powered unit like the :
WN802T

Any thoughts on which model is best for this requirement - both POE or conventially powered ?

(and I really wish Netgear would produce a full model comparison sheet !)
