N300 - through Firewall

Model actually EX2700-100PAS  if that means anything.

I bought this 2 years ago...and since network was marginally good...never used....finally took it out of the box 3 days ago and have been trying to hook it up ever since.

Have tried 4 times and reset the box 3 times, yet still have some 'network names' hanging on my computer *(how do I clean this up). I have Windows 10.

I am behind a Firewall and only know so much about it.  The last attempt, I seemingly got everything to work..lights on box on for Router and Device, and went through set-up of device and password, yet when I display networks, the Network I have set-up NetgearSTT_EXT says Open, Internet and yet it is not ever displaying a webpage (not connected to the Internet)  Then I saw somewhere that it was actually NetgearSTT_EXT 2   (so does that mean a previous attempt not cleaned out and muddled it).  How do I start 'ALL' over and get it right...or is there a Firewall setting that I need?  Thanks.
