NETGEAR EX3110-100NAS WiFi RANGE EXTENDER

I just purchased the Netgear EX3110 Dual Band WiFi Extender.  I have a security system on my residence and am needing help to get WiFi to two (2) cameras that are outside on/in a garage not connected to the house.  I just hooked this extender up and I can only get WiFi to the camera outside the garage and not to the one inside the garage.  Is this model of extender strong enough to go walls and garage doors approximately 150'-200' away from the house??  If not what do I need to purchase to receive that distance?  My router is on the 2nd floor in my office and does not give WiFi to the garage outside (not connected to the house).  Would it work if I plugged it in to a receptacle inside the garage or would it be too far from my router??  PLEASE....I need help!!!

It probably depends on the building material. Steel garage doors would be great at blocking wireless.

And 200 feet is a hell of a run for wifi.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: NETGEAR EX3110-100NAS WiFi RANGE EXTENDER

150-200ft is to much to expect from wifi. Especially when exterior walls get involved.

Options to connect the garage?

1. powerline. If the garage is on the same circuit, it *might* connect/reach that far. It'd be pushing it to

2. bury a underground rated ethernet wire. You can run up to 300ft with ethernet. That'd reach and be the best option. Might take some digging on your part

3. a point to point system like netgear airbridge (cheaper versions are avaiable) would let you connect the 2 buildings and then you'd just setup an access point in the garage.
