NETGEAR - Powerline AV500 (XWN5001)
Hi All!
I have the piece of crap that is formally known as the NETGEAR POWERLINE 500.
I have spent the last 4 hours trying to get it to work, all i want is to extend my wifi so i can place the box in the kitchen and still get wifi in the garden. Very straight forward. Or not as the case may be.
I bough the device back in 205. It worked wonderfully in my previous house and then as I say I've been having a nightmare trying to connect it at my parents today. I've called the helpline twice and both times theyve been extremely unhelpful, and tried to make me pay £99 when all i need is a little advice and I think its ridiculous that they try to extort money out of people for helping them.
Anyway, anybody got any tips for what to do? Tried using the manual but it seems pretty out of date because no matter what i do the piece of crap doesnt seem to want to play.

Try posting in the power line forum would be a good start.
