Net Gear Wifi Extender

Hi there. So maybe a year ago or so I bought a Netgear Wifi Extender of my Dad's computer guy. I just had to get a new router and now I can no longer sign in the extender. I know the password is right. Using the same password as my normal Wifi. Every time it just says check password and try again. Is it something so simple that I'm just missing it? We don't have a laptop or desktop so I'm hoping I can just resolve this issue with my smart phone. Thanks for time

    What extender do you have? 

    What router did you get? 

    Have you tried factory resetting the extender and then installing it using the installation assistant? (don't use wps if not the same brand router)
