Netgear AC750 EX3800 2.4GHz channel selection stuck on auto

I try to setup the EX3800 in range extender mode.

How do I force the EX3800 to use a different channel? It is forced to be "auto" which apparently means same channel as the router uses. This obviously brings conflicts so I want to change it.

Also, is this range extender able to use the same ssid as the router?

I have tried using the same ssid, but when I connect to the extender, it fails to load the configuration page.

Re: Netgear AC750 EX3800 2.4GHz channel selection stuck on auto

When in extender mode, an extender HAS to use the same ssid as the router. reason why is its basically the channel the router is broadcasting/receiving (talking) to the extender on. so if the extender was on a different channel, it wouldn't be able to communicate with the router.

Also, the problem with setting an extender with the same ssid as the router (when it isn't a mesh device which the ex3800 isn't), is that they're sticky. There isn't a roaming protocol so device don't roam until they've lost signal or its dropped so much its useless.

Current setup: CM2000-> RBKE963B-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
