I have the Netgear N300 EX2700 that I set up several years ago and just ordered another for a different part o the house. I have no idea what the password is for the original extender. When I set up the new one the SSID is ****._EXT.
My questions are, when I set up the new extender do I need to use the forgotten password I used originally, and should the SSID be **** _EXT_2? (the extenders use my house SSID and password)
If I need the original password to log in to the second extender, how do I find it, reset it, etc?

Lastly, I was able to log on to the extender page by using the ip however I have no idea of the user name and password. Using help the two security questions weren't stored or what the should have been.

Re: Netgear N300 EX2700 Password & SSID
Also, if I try to visit mywifi dot net with my phone right next to the original extender refuses to connect.
If I'm able to start fresh with the second extender all my questions are for naught but I'd like to be prepared for what I'm in for.

Re: Netgear N300 EX2700 Password & SSID
I received the second extender and was able to set it up. Since they're both about the same distance away from the main router on opposites sides of the house, I used the same SSID and password as the original extender and everything seems to be working fine.
