Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Mesh Extender EX7000

Please someone help! I bought this extender at an auction. Got it hooked up see it in network and everything. But trying to get it registered, says it’s already been registered. I’m guessing by the previous owner. When I try to connect to it it’s asking me for a password. I have no idea what it is.
What can I do?

Re: Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Mesh Extender EX7000

You don't need to register it to use it.

Simple make sure you factory reset it before you install it.

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.

then follow the install/setup guide and you should be good.

The registration is a little more important on the routers because you can tie armor/parental controls into them. With extenders, you don't need those options so registration isn't as important.

Current setup: CM2000-> RBKE963B-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity

Re: Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Mesh Extender EX7000

Thank you. I will give that a try. I’m guessing by doing that will set it to factory and wipe anyone’s password that they set. Crossing my fingers 🤞 I’ll repost after I try this.

Ok, got it all connected. Got the firmware updated and even found out it has fast lane technology. I read up on that. Holy mackerel, what a difference I have now. Thank you for your help!
