Netgear extender doesn't recognise a new wifi network.

I have changed wifi provider and my netgear exteder still thinks its connected to the old wifi network. How do I change it to connect to the new network?

I'd start with a factory reset. Push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on. 

then you should be able to follow the install guide.
