Nighthawk X6 R8000 AC3200
I’m looking for options to extend WiFi out to the back patio. I have the R8000 in a utility room near the front of the house, so create is “spotty at best” on the back patio. I was looking for Mesh as my first option, and maybe an extender as my second option. Will an AX8 extend my existing R8000, or am I better off going with an all new system?

Re: Nighthawk X6 R8000 AC3200
Which extender are you looking at?
I've got an EX8000 and it works great.
Not saying it'd work as many things impact performance like home size, interior/exterior wall materials.
the tribands perform much better than the dual bands. Reason why is the dual bands have to recieve and then retransmit, and they can't do both at once. So they take a 50% speed hit right off the bat. The tribands reserve one of the 5ghz bands just for router----extender communication. makes them perform much better.
