Nighthawk X6 extender not showing up when searching?

I upgraded my fios router to a triband G3100 and I have my devices connected it. I have reset the extender before connecting and when I log into the router I see my extender and the router and Extender are setup correctly. However  when I put the app on my phone and it asks to connect to the netgear_ext it doesn't show that to connect but its connected to my router ssid. Please help thanks
