Nighthawk X6S EX8000 with R9000 X10 5G band issues
I recently bought EX8000 to use with my X10 R9000, I've tested for a month, it looks like when ever if I linked EX8000 with X10 via 5G, I would occassinoally getting a network down on my X10 router, I have to reboot, to bring back my network.
1st I enabled both 2.4g and 5g, so I am at max connection with backhaul, then after a week i had my first network down since I bought X10 an year ago (never had any major issues)
2nd, I rebooted everything, and couple days later, noticed that ex8000 would lose connection with my x10 router
3rd, I changed ex8000 to only use 5g as connection to my x10, and notice 2 network down within 12 hrs.
4th, I changed ex8000 to only use 2.4g as connection to my x10 last night, and so far I don't think I saw any crashes, at least my network is still up
all tested without giving a mac-addr to ex8000, and 2.4g is set to auto channel, 5g have been set to 153 and 161, both crashed my network

Re: Nighthawk X6S EX8000 with R9000 X10 5G band issues
Hi,
I have latest firmware on both my R9000 and EX8000 , and have done both factory reset and performed my tests
I have read so many fourms in the community before I decided to post.
One thing I didn't do is downgrade to other firmware images
But as we speak, with my current just 2.4g only, it's been hold up with no hiccups.
I think I am going to return my EX8000, as I can't get a stable 5g connection.
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk X6S EX8000 with R9000 X10 5G band issues
I’ve also been experiencing this exact issue for a while and will try to drop the EX8000 down to just 2.4GHz. I even moved the extender closer to the X10 and with limited obstructions (interior walls) and less than 35 feet away the device only get a 50% signal strength. Very odd and disappointed performance!
