I was using the extender successfully until yesterday and mid-session it stopped working. The internet router is fine thru rest of the house. When I tried restarting it has lost the configure setting to my main network and has reverted back to NETGEAR-EXT. the issue now is that it remains visible in wifi list but can only connect for about 5 secs and it then drops off. I have done factory reboot but have same results......

It would seem that you may have a hardware failure. If it’s still within its hardware warranty period, contact Technical Support and they may offer an RMA.
