It is running the most up-to-date firmware and I used the setup assistant on the app.
Several devices are connected fine. For example one of my laptops works fine downstairs on the main router however going upstairs to the location of the extender it loses Internet access rather than WiFi connection.

Which router do you have it connected to?
What firmware is on the extender?
Up-to-date isn't a number, isn't always up to date, and doesn't help others that might have this issue when that version number is no longer up to date.
