Poor Signal Issue

I have poor singals in certain areas of my home would this wifi extender slow down my internet connection in acess point mode once I have a long ethernet cable connected  from the router to the extender. Also would I have to change the ip adress of my extender once I have it in access point mode so it wont get confuse with my main router  or would it do it automatically?

No if you use it in AP via ethernet it will not slow down and it will automatically change the ip.
