R7800 Wi-Fi Extender RTecommnedation?
Greetings,
I want to extend my wi-fi signal to the basement and den. I have the R7800 and definately want to use the router's capabilities. What extender is recommended?
I also have the R7000 that I can direct connect to the R7800 but plan on using the R7000 for WRT on the same network but without extending.
Thanks
Nick

Re: R7800 Wi-Fi Extender RTecommnedation?
I usually recommend the triband line of extenders. With their dedicated backhaul, they don't take the same 50% throughput reduction the single/dual band extenders do. So they tend to be faster/more stable.
Those extenders:
EX7500
EX7700
EX8000
RBS40V (has an extender mode)

Went with the EX7500. Blue lights all around. However, I cannot connect to my iPhones.

did you connect the ex7500 to the r7000 or the r7800?
did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant?
What modem do you have?
are you using the "onessid" function and smart connect?
what error/notice does the iphone give you?

Re: R7800 Wi-Fi Extender RTecommnedation?
Thank you for responding.
I connected the EX7500 to the R7800 router. After a few attempts the EX7500 was able to display all blue lights. I moved the router to a central location and still received blue lights. Two iPhones found the two bands but were unable to connect to wifi. I checked the SDID settings and made port corrections as per the manual. Still could not connect. Printer not connecting too.
This morning the 5g light is off. Tried resetting without success.

The 5ghz/2.4ghz light turns on when a device is connected to it. Not when its connected to the router.
You also put the iphones found the 2 bands. Are you not using "onessid" and smart connect?
