RAX70 and EAX80 - can you connect EAX80 to be an extender using an ethernet cable?

Greetings

I have been trying to locate my extended in an area of my home that has an ethernet cable. figuring this would be the best way to connect between the router/wifi and the extender.

Has anyone done this?

Any tricks?

I can not get it to work.

You would think Netgear would make that technique painless and so easy...

Thanks in advance

JiTa

Using the EAX80 with a ethernet connection to a host router would be in AP mode.

You can but you need to set it up in access point mode using the installation assistant.

It'll have the best connection hardwired in.

You do need to keep in mind through that access point mode disables the smart roaming features.

Devices will still roam but will be "stickier" than when smart roaming features are enabled.
