Range Extender AC1200 EX6200

Hi 

I just bought the NETGEAR AC1200 WIFI RANGE EXTENDER 

MODEL EX 6200v2

I activated it for the most part but the 5 GHz Link Rate is not lighting up   - only the 2.4 GHz Link is 

There are 2 houses on the same lot 

1 has 2.4 internet

and another has 5 

I have the Extender in the back house with the 2.4 internet speed - and I'm tryying to extend my WiFI range to the back yard in order to activate a pool app to work

Does anybody know ?  SHOULD I PLACE THE RANGE EXTENDER IN THE FRONT HOUSE WITH THE BETTER INTERNET?
