Range extender install problem
I recently purchased an AC1900 EX6410v2 range extender which refuses to install. First I tried the WPS button method. On power up NETGEAR.EXT appeared in my network list, however after going through the WPS connection method, it disappeared from the list never to return. After doing a factory reset, it reappeared in the network list so I clicked on that instead which prompted me to go through a setup/sign in sequence. After I did all that, it said the extender could not be found and it had disappeared from the network list again. After another factory reset I downloaded the Nighthawk app, followed all the setup instructions, only to be told it couldn't connect to my extender. Once again it had disappeared from the network list. Whenever installation is maybe successful in regards to status LED's being lit, it hides itself from network detection. Anyone got any ideas before it gets returned/binned?

The problem isn't with the device. Its with your understanding of what you bought.
You bought a MESH extender. A mesh extender, when setup using wps or the default installation settings, sets up with the exact same ssid as the router. It allows devices (phone/tablet/etc) to roam between the router/extender as needed.
If its not "showing up" separate, its because that's how you set it up.
You can disable that function if you'd like to have a separate ssid if you'd like.
