Range extender to detached garage
I have my netgear router in the house. We have a detached garage on different electrical circuit. Will a repeater work on a separate electrical circuit or does it need to be on the same electrical network as the router?

Yes, the NETGEAR WiFi Range Extenders do not need to be on the same electrical circuit.

However, the NETGEAR powerline do require that it be connected to the same electrical circuit.

Re: Range extender to detached garage
My suggestion. Buy something other than netgear. Their warranty and support is horrible. Check out linksys. I had a netgear extender for less than two months that broke. And they will do nothing about it.
