I am looking for a range extender to reach my barn. The barn is 550' from my home computer network. What is the best extender to purchase or should I use some type of bridge. I am not to computer smart concerning this issue. I will be using my echo in the barn and that is my made useage,.

I don't think you'll get 550' with an extender. Powerline networking might work if the barn gets it's power from the house.
You could look into the Ubiquiti Nanostations - they are intended to bridge wifi over long distances. I don't know of any equivalent Netgear products. A mobile hotspot is another approach.
