Rax120 and ex7000 does not reach back yard
I have a Netgear Rax120 modem and ex7000 extender . In my house my WiFi is fantastic. The issue is my shed were I would like to place a wireless security camera. If I place the extender in the shed the camera WiFi in my home is poor, but with excellent WiFi for the camera. When the the extender is in my home I loose WiFi to the camera about 15 feet. Away. The extender is right by the door to the yard. Should I be looking to add a better extender(which one) or add a second extender( which one)?
thanks in advance,
Chris

Re: Rax120 and ex7000 does not reach back yard
The EX7000 is a pretty solid extender. You're not going to get more range with a different extender. You can get the option of a 3rd band but that isn't going to give you more range.
Problem many run into is exterior walls. they tend to be made from brick, concrete, metal siding, foil lined insulation, etc. These materials are much better at blocking wifi than what simple sheetrock/wood is.
many try different things like running an ethernet wire outdoors and connecting an extender. netgears airbridge for example has the option of power over ethernet and is outdoor rated. and it gets you past the exterior walls.
but it usually comes down to finding a decent way through the exterior walls for the home/shed.
