Re: AX1800 R6700AX as extender
According to the 4-Stream AX1800 WiFi 6 Router Model R6700AX User Manual , there is no such mode available. Would not be a scam.

Re: AX1800 R6700AX as extender
No idea from there the idea does repeatedly re-appear in the community again (after it was denied several times before over the years) that some random AX1800-model like the R6700AX or the earlier R6700 can also serve Extender mode. True is only some AX1800 models like the dedicated extender models like the some EAX14, EAX15, EAX15v2, or EAX20 for example are supporting extender mode. Without knowing more where this false idea are coming from (false product descriptions on some platforms for example, not operated by Netgear, ...?) there is not much to say here.

Re: AX1800 R6700AX as extender
Not understanding isn't a scam.
Why do you think its a scam when nothing says the R6700AX is an extender?

Re: AX1800 R6700AX as extender
A long time ago, Netgear published a KB entry, to be exact
Last Updated:06/08/2020 | Article ID: 24108
It was clearly applicable to four exact defined models: R6700 R6700v2 R6900 R7000
At no pint, the subject AX1800 R6700AX was included - in fact it appeared on the market much later.
From the Internet Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20210115105152/https://kb.netgear.com/24108/How-do-I-enable-the-extender...
Netgear had intentionally removed the KB entry after the confusion it caused to some of the readers.
Explained before in brief https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Range-Extenders-Nighthawk/AX1800-R6700AX-as-extender/m-p/21806... ... no idea why someone open new threads starting with a "Re: ..." subject anyway, without being a reply, without any reference or link.
